Brazilian singer/songwriter Sico Buarruchi's '23 new album is a 2CD live recording on the theme of samba. He proposes samba as a response to fascism, pandemics, and "dementia," as he calls human nature. The 31 songs absorb the language of the streets through original and thoughtful poetry, and place black culture and popular culture as an obstacle to any violent behavior. The album is directed by Luiz Claudio Hamos and features some of Brazil's finest, including Jorge Erdel and Julin Moreira, as well as guest vocals by Monica Salmazo.
