What a warm tone! Baroque guitar virtuoso Eunas Nudberg releases a collection of tablature pieces for Kapsperger's chitarrone on this SACD hybrid disc. Baroque guitar virtuoso Eunas Nudberg has recorded Capspelger's Tablatures for Quitarone on theorbo. The theorbo is a 14-stringed lute-like instrument (14-course theorbo) that first appeared in the 16th century and was widely used until the end of the Baroque period. Capsperger (1580-1651), one of the most famous composers of early Italian Baroque music, was also a master theorbo player and left many works. His melancholy and warm theorbo tone is very pleasant to play. He studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Stockholm College of Music, and has a vast repertoire of theorbo and lute works from the early 16th to the mid-18th centuries.
