FOAMMM, based in Oslo, Norway, has come up with a work of such perfection that it is hard to believe it is their debut! After the release of their debut EP, FOAMMMM had been attracting attention from many quarters for their remarkable activities, such as supporting Fat White Family, an up-and-coming band that is the pride of London, UK. Their long-awaited first album is a blend of shoegaze, dream pop, and psychedelic rock, and is packed with their very own sound! The colorful sense of color and shimmering sound of synthesizers and feedback guitars, the simple but precise rhythm section supporting them, and the clear voice of vocalist Kiara, all combine to create a pop-like sound that seems to have gravity, but it is hard to tell where it is being pulled to. A world full of pop and thick harmonies emerges. The pop texture is always present, but the distortion inherent in it is sure to charm you at once.From the fantastical "Isengard" inspired by "The Lord of the Rings" to the #metoo anthem "No," the music is spun from a variety of perspectives, all wrapped up in a very tactile, brilliant pop sensibility and sparkle. I am simply amazed!
