Four cantatas with the same text from the 17th century! Vincent Bernard, an internationally acclaimed old music performer and musicologist who went from Metz and Lyon to the Stuttgart University of Music and the Basel Schola Cantorum, where he studied organ, harpsichord, basso continuo, and historical organ performance techniques, and won many international competitions, and Bernard has been the musical director of the Chapelle de Saint-Marc Ensemble in Luxembourg since 2022. This album features four cantatas based on verses 25 and 26 of the 73rd Psalm, inviting the listener to enter the world of mystery and poetry of 17th century Germany. In addition to these vocal works, the ensemble has recorded for the first time the complete organ works of Andreas Neller by the organ built in Bouzonville by the French organ virtuoso Marc Garnier (in Japan, he has worked on the organ of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space, among others), who is known as a contemporary organ master.
