Frescobaldi is good looking. Guillermi's spirited performance is a great masterpiece! Frescobaldi is a well-known master of keyboard works. He also wrote secular and religious vocal works, but they are not often performed. Lorenzo Ghielmi, an accomplished organist, has succeeded in bringing out the best of this composer by combining keyboard and vocal music. The advanced and exciting counterpoint and innovative sense of harmony found in the keyboard pieces are of course also present in the vocal pieces, and the addition of the organ, rather than a capella, makes them sonically rich and full. The centrifugal force of the free fantasy in the choruses and the centripetal force of the organ chords are a perfect match! The world premiere recordings are also scattered throughout this valuable recording.
