Debut Album "Black Bay" to be Released on Bella Union Silver Moth, a new collective featuring acclaimed musicians including Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai, has announced the release of its debut album, Black Bay, on Stuart Braithwaite, Elisabeth Elektra, Evi Vine, Steven Hill, members of Abrasive Trees, members of Burning House, and Prosthetic Inspired by a Twitter exchange between Matthew Rochford (Abrasive Trees), Elisabeth Elektra, and fellow artist Nick Hudson about the Isle of Lewis, the work began with a series of improvisational performances of the album in early 2021. The work was inspired by a Twitter exchange between Matthew Rochford (Abrasive Trees), Elisabeth Elektra and fellow artist Nick Hudson about the Isle of Lewis.After a few more Zoom meetings, Rochford, Elektra, Vine, Braithwaite, Hill, drummer Ash Babb, and cellist Ben Roberts visited the Great Bernera studio on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Black Bay, on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, to record the songs in just four days. The album is intrinsically powerful and excitingly balanced, encompassing a controlled power around the ego-less chemistry between the players; Silver Moth has found something truly special in "Black Bay" by abandoning all certainties.
