Moonchild vocalist Amber Navran has teamed up with Jacob Mann, one of the best pianists/keyboard players in the LA jazz scene, and producer Phil Beaudreau, trusted by Dr. Dre and Justin Bieber, to form the new special unit, Cat Pack! Cat Pack makes its debut! Amber Navran, a member of the Grammy-nominated Moonchild, whose clear voice is popular for its ability to easily traverse LA jazz, R&B, and neo-soul, and one of the LA jazz scene's leading pianists/keyboardists, known for her duo with Sam Wilkes and contributions to Lewis Cole's works, will join the Cat Pack for their debut! He has worked with Dr. Dre, Justin Bieber, Leila Hathaway, The Game, Travis Barker, and others, and produced Justin Bieber's studio album "Changes," for which he received a Grammy nomination. Phil Beaudreau, who was also nominated for a Grammy Award.Catpack, a special unit newly started by these three musicians, makes its debut! Catpack" features 11 songs that are the result of an organic exploration of musical expression by three exceptional musicians united by friendship and respect for each other. The album is the culmination of an artistry that only they could have achieved, incorporating the essence of neo-soul, funk, and electronic music, while developing a jazz-influenced R&B sound. The band's unique name comes from a synth patch they found in the studio that sounds like a cat's meow. The key track on the album, "Next To Me," is a fun joke about the extremes of devotion to give everything to someone, urging partners to "take vitamin C and put on sunscreen" in order to achieve lasting love. Amber and Phil's beautiful harmonies echo amidst the meowing synthesizers. (1/2)
