Wales began recording the Beethoven String Quartets in 2017 with the aim of completing the complete Beethoven String Quartets. The sixth collection, which marks the climax of the recording of the complete works, includes No. 1, the largest of the six Op. 18 works, and No. 14, the most diverse and golden work in the entire Musikverein oeuvre, a massive work in seven movements. Unlike the numbers, "No. 1" is the second largest work in the genre, and "No. 14" is the second largest. Wales' performance, which reaches from the back of the eye to pure musical beauty, takes the string quartet to a new place. Fontec.
