The famous vocalist and bassist, who played in many famous bands such as King Crimson/UK/Asia, is now available in an 8-CD box set containing his solo albums and a large amount of bonus material in Japan with Japanese commentary! John Wetton, one of the most famous vocalists and bassists in the progressive rock world, passed away in 2005, after having been active at the forefront of the music scene with King Crimson, UK, Asia, and many other famous bands until his later years.This 8-CD box set includes 6 of his solo albums and a lot of bonus tracks, and will be released in Japan with commentary! Discs 1-6 contain John's solo albums released during his lifetime: '80's "Coat in the Crossfire", '94's "Battle Lines (Voice Mail)", '97's "Ark Angel", '00's "Welcome to Heaven", '03's "Rock Discs 7 and 8 are supervised by Rick Nelson and include songs and demos that were previously only included on compilation albums, as well as songs that are thought to be previously unreleased. The CD is accompanied by a 64-page booklet featuring liner notes by Nick Shilton, editor of "An Extraordinary Life," a book tracing John's musical career, and artwork by John's longtime friend Michael Inns. The CD is packaged in a 12" box with a 64-page booklet.John's voice is both powerful and expressive, and his melodies are both powerful and expressive, and his songs are both pop-sensitive and straddle the line between progressive rock and hard rock. This is a must-have luxury box for all British/progressive rock fans!
