Septura, a London-based septet of top brass players, presents their latest work in 2018. They have performed a wide variety of music from baroque to modern on their six albums to date, including their "Christmas Album," but this time they finally get to hear a full range of modern British works, which are their "country's stuff. Simon Cox and Matthew Knight have arranged works by Finzi, who has many fans in Japan, as well as vocal and string works by Elgar, Walton, Parry, and other well-known composers. The pieces sound as if they were originally written for brass instruments. The beautiful "Romance" by Finzi, the solemn "Farewell Song" by Parry, and other pieces on this unique disc offer a rich taste of the unique emotions of the British modern era. Naxos Japan
