Description:
A collection of rare recordings by Julian Sitkovetsky! From the "Melodiya x Obsession" series, which reissues Melodiya's classic and rare Melodiya recordings that have become obsolete or hard to find, comes a 2-CD set of recordings by the famous Russian violinist Julian Sitkovetsky (1925-1958), who was active in the first half of the 20th century. The first set of recordings of Julian Sitkovetsky is a 2-disc set. Julian Sitkovetsky won the All-USSR Youth Competition in 1945 (Richter and Rostropovich won the piano and cello categories, respectively, that year), shared first prize with Kogan at the 1947 Prague Youth Festival Competition, and continued to win the 1952 In 1956, he developed lung cancer and died in 1958 at the age of 32.It was not until the late 1970s, when Melodiya released his records, that people began to talk about his art in earnest, and this album brings together a collection of rare recordings from the 1950s, including the Sibelius Violin Concerto conducted by Anosov, a collection of pieces accompanied by Mrs. Bela Davidovich, and a masterpiece of unaccompanied violin playing. The fresh and elegant tone and sharp technique, which have been inherited by his son Dmitry Sitkovetsky and others, are presented in a 2-CD collection of rare sound sources from the 1950s, remastered by Nadezhda Radugina.
