Aubert, a popular composer who dominated the French opera world; Blanquette's "The Bells of Cornouville," which was performed 400 times in a row after its premiere; Lecoq's "Madame Ango's Daughter," which is set in Paris after the French Revolution; and Gordon Jacob's suite of music from this opera arranged for ballet by Leonide Massen. The suite that Gordon Jacob arranged for ballet for Leonid Machin using the music from this opera is included in this recording.
