The French classical opera company Les Talents Reliques has made a significant contribution to the revival of unknown music dramas of the 18th century and before, from the front lines of France, where Lully's pastoral lyric tragedies were first performed. The company's operas, especially those with French scripts, are an extension of the everyday language of conductor Rousset and many of the company's members, and their excellent performance is due to their compatibility of language and musicality, The release of "Isis" by Aparte in 2019, and "Assis et Galathe" in the fall of 2022, are fresh in our minds, and now "Psyche", the sixth lyric tragedy, is about to make its grand entrance! Seven years after the collaboration with the playwright Molière on the play of the same title, "Tragedie-Barré", just before the two fell out over the nature of theater with music, this pastoral mythological drama, based on a libretto by Thomas Corneille, the brother of the tragic writer Pierre Corneille, and Fontenelle, known for his long life, has been vividly revived today at the Royal Opera House in Versailles, the home of tragedy. It will be vividly revived in the modern age. Although cpo has an earlier recording of the entire work (777367), this is the first time that the French performers have performed the entire work.Cyril Ovidi, Deborah Cachet, and other famous singers who have been active in the world of French classical music, as well as Ambroisine Blais, who has also released an album of songs about Psyche, are outstanding in their roles as title roles, vividly singing the subtleties of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure. The instrumentalists, including Sébastien Marc on recorder, Emmanuel Jacques on bass strings, and Jean-François Madouffe on nonporous natural trumpet, are also outstanding.
