In 2013, she released "Guardian Angel" (CCSSA35513), an album subtitled "Passacaglia" by Biber, a pioneer of the Baroque period, which vividly demonstrates the diversity of Baroque solo violin music. Rachel Podger, one of Britain's foremost baroque violinists, has vividly demonstrated the diversity of unaccompanied violin music of the baroque period. She has also achieved remarkable success in interpreting sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven, and her new unaccompanied album reminds us how her performances of baroque works, which have been the mainstay of her career and for which she has received high acclaim from early on, are both fascinatingly sincere and flexible. From the anonymous works of the late 17th century before Bach to Tartini on the eve of the classical era, the works are carefully selected for their simplicity, yet their charms are concentrated in a way that is sure to catch the listener's ear.
