The young quartet's second album of "Apony Quartet" & "Scottish Folk Songs"!This is the second album by the Maxwell Quartet, which was formed in the UK in 2010 and won the Audience Prize at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition in 2017. Continuing from their previous album (CKD602), the quartet attempts to explore the influences and relevance of the "Apony Quartet," which Haydn began writing soon after his return to Vienna from his first trip to England, in combination with folk songs from their native Scotland. The transparency and luster of Haydn's music, which is characteristic of the younger generation, is most appealing, but the sense of the joyfulness and melancholy of the Scottish folk songs is also wonderful, resulting in a very beautiful and pleasant album.
