＜Celia Cruz, one of the world's superstar vocalists of Latin music, has released an edited version of this album. *This is a normal imported domestic version with obi commentary, without the paper jacket. Celia Cruz was born on October 21 in the Santos Suarez district of Havana, a poor Cuban neighborhood with a large family of 14 children. As a teenager, an older cousin entered her in the radio talent show "La Ola del Te," which Celia won and began her career as a singer. In 1950, Celia Cruz replaced Mirta Silva, who had returned to her native Puerto Rico, as the lead vocalist of La Sonora Matancera on the "Radio Progress" weekly show. Celia made her recording debut with La Sonora Matancera, releasing her early classic "Kao Kao Mani Picao" as a 78 rpm record on Sidney Siegel's Seaco label. Celia's numerous albums for Seaco over the next 15 years include many of the classics that La Sonora Matancera performed with her.This "Proper Introduction to Celia Cruz - Havana Days" was recorded by Celia in Havana in the early 1950s. It looks back on her early years as a star and reminds us of the recordings that captured her youthful, powerful voice. Commentary by All Days Editor "Domestic edition with obi and commentary.
