Description:

Three original albums by Mioko Yamaguchi, "Toki Sakashima," "FLOMA," and "FAIRYTHM," are now available in long-awaited analog format! This is the first original album following "Toki Sakashima" released since the masterpiece "Tsukihime". The bold changes and dramatic evolution brought about by the unleashed sensitivity and penetrating narrative. The album opens with a dark fantasy of light and darkness woven together on an overwhelming scale under the theme of "good and evil fairies. SUGIZO joins on guitar for one of the highlights, "Dr. Caligari"! In the instrumental piece "Fair Rhythm - Introduction" at the beginning, the pure sound particles of a music box floating in the vast earth announce the beginning of a new story and hint at the existence of secrets that will be unraveled in the future. Gradually, accompanied by mysterious strings that intertwine with each other, we are lured into an unreal world. The song "Fairy Rhythm: Fairy Hill" appeared at the end of the song, which was clad in a fantastic atmosphere but at the same time had an unsettling air about it. The sound of traditional instruments used in Celtic music, such as tin whistle, Irish flute, and Irish fiddle, are used to express the world of mythical fairies. From the thrilling middle section to the festive final section, with its diverse instrumentation and Bulgarian voices, the dramatic development of the song is unintentionally drawn in. Dr. Caligari," which begins with a series of evil fairies evoked, is a new frontier for Mioji Yamaguchi, exquisitely blending retro-modern lyrics and narrative, dark synth sounds and danceable disco beats, and SUGIZO's one-of-a-kind guitar sound with a variety of effects. Turning to the tranquil and mellow "Beyond," which features a beautiful piano as its main instrument. Ambient synth sounds and TR-808-style rhythm boxes create a comfortable yet somehow mysterious space. In the following song, "Kyuon," a beautiful biwa, melancholic piano and strings, and fragile synth sounds provide the backdrop for a beautiful, beautiful, and powerful singing voice that clearly depicts a mysterious scene. The powerful taiko drums, shamisen, shinobue flute, and orin are impressive in "Ryu ni naru" (Becoming a Dragon), a song in the "Japanese Trilogy" that includes elements of Japanesque, Oriental, and Okinawan folk songs. Kuro no Yuki no Hime" focuses on the frightening and fantastical nature of Snow White. The light rhythms and free arrangements are playful, while the insane humor of the music highlights its idiosyncrasies. In "Astral World," the quietly aroused emotions are slowly brought to a calm again, gently enveloped by the warm lyrics spun in a multi-recorded whisper voice. The last song, the kaleidoscopic "Witch's Box," dreamily uses a MIDI music box, a CANADEON PW40, and the magic of the echoes of sound is filled with a sacred beauty. The gimmick in the ending reveals the secret of "Fair Rhythm" and brings us back to the real world of each of us.
