Many Covers, One Song Series] "Many Covers, One Song" is a compilation of all the covers of "Misty," the famous hit song by Johnny Mathis. The "many covers, one song" series focuses on a single song from the many beloved classics that we want to keep forever in our hearts, and compiles all arrangements and versions of songs from the past, present, and future. For the fourth release, we have selected "Misty" by Errol Garner. The song has been sung for a long time in Japan as well as overseas, including by Izumi Yukimura in the past and by JUJU and Junichi Inagaki in recent years. The sweet melody is melancholy and imaginative, and was the inspiration for an effective sequence in Clint Eastwood's first film, "Play Misty For Me. This book examines the appeal of the famous ballad from all angles, which has given birth to many great singers, including Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. Commentary: Naoki Sugimoto
