The Pearl Brothers’ 30th-anniversary concert (June 23, 2016, at Club Quattro in Shibuya) marked the official signal of their full-scale comeback. For a long time, the precious audio recordings from that event were available exclusively to crowdfunding backers. To commemorate the Pearl Brothers’ 40th anniversary in 2026, this long-lost recording is now making a grand return, re-edited and remastered. That legendary night is vividly brought back to life. Includes a bonus track of the PSY・S song “PaperLove” performed by guest vocalist and longtime ally CHAKA!
The Pearl Brothers celebrated their 40th anniversary this year, and the foundation of their “present” was laid by their landmark 30th-anniversary concert, “It’s the 30th, Pearl Brothers” (June 28, 2016, Shibuya Club Quattro). Welcoming their close friend CHAKA (ex-PSY・S) as a guest, the Pearl Brothers unleashed over three hours of frenzy on this night, marking their full-fledged comeback—in fact, this live performance had previously been released as a limited-edition 2-disc set exclusively for crowdfunding supporters. Now, as the first installment of the “Pearl Brothers 40th Anniversary Continuous Release Project,” this live album makes its grand return, re-edited and remastered. The sound produced by these men—who have always competed at the forefront of the music industry—is powerful, pop-infused, and lustrous, effortlessly transcending the ages. The seven-colored tones of the late Tsunehiko Yashiro (keyboards), who became an official member (the fifth member) following this live performance, are also breathtaking. That legendary night is now vividly revived.
