Rufus Wainwright is a singer/songwriter whose life itself is music, and who has earned the respect of numerous artists and celebrities. He has announced the release of his 12th studio album. Last year, he released "RUFUS DOES JUDY AT CAPITOL STUDIOS," an album celebrating the legendary Judy Garland, who dominated the golden age of Hollywood, and on this new album, he focuses on folk music, which is one of his musical elements. In this new release, he focuses on folk music, which is one of the musical elements that make up his own music.Rufus is the son of folk singer Lorden Wainwright III and his singer/songwriter mother, Kate McGarrigle. With his six-piece band, he has brought together John Legend, David Byrne, Sheryl Crow, Nicole Schlensinger, Chaka Khan, Andrew Bird, Anohni, Susanna Hoffs, Andrew Bird, Anohni, and Susanna Hoffs, as well as a host of other musicians, Andrew Bird, Anohni, Susanna Hoffs, Van Dyke Parks, Madison Cunningham, Brady Carlisle, and many more. Produced by Mitchell Froom, a longtime collaborator of Rufus.Rounding out the collection of glittering gems was the Scottish folk song "Wild Mountain Thyme," performed by my mother Kate McGarrigle on banjo with my sisters Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roache, my aunt Anna McGarrigle, my cousin Lily Ranken, and my best friend Chine Tannenbaum on bass guitar. The song "Wild Mountain Thyme" is a Scottish folk song played with the banjo of my mother, Kate McGarrigle, played by my best friend, Chayne Tannenbaum. Rufus himself said of the song, "It was a pleasure to have my mother on the album. I was happy to have my mother on the album. Without her, FOLKOCRACY would not have been born.
