The Allman Betts Band, with a strong legacy of American rock in its DNA, is comprised of Devon Allman, son of Gregg Allman, an original member of The Allman Brothers Band, and Dukey Betts, son of Dickey Betts, who is also a member of the Allman Brothers Band. Last year, the band released their debut album, "Down to the River," which was highly acclaimed as a "legacy and on their own path. They are now releasing their second album.If the previous album "DOWN TO THE RIVER" was a passionate work in which the musicianship of the band members sparked off each other, this new album "BLESS YOUR HEART" is like a campfire album born from the camaraderie born from constant touring and the musical chemistry born from the members' ability to communicate without words. Inspired by the band's "spiritual hometown" that Devon Allman calls the "Americana States," the album contains 13 songs that reflect the experiences and thoughts of each of the seven members and the band as a whole. The album opens with "Pale Horse Rider," a searing guitar storm reminiscent of Neil Young & Crazy Horse or My Morning Jacket. The lead single, "Magnolia Road," is a giddy summer track that reflects the lives of Devon Allman and Duane Betts. The album also features bassist Berry Duane Oakley (son of Berry Oakley of The Allman Brothers Band) on lead vocals for the first time on "The Doctor's Daughter," an original number written by Oakley himself.In addition, "Savannah's Dream," an instrumental number with strong The Allman Brothers Band genes, is also featured on BLESS YOUR HEART. Recorded in just over a week at American music's legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, with additional tracking in Memphis and St. Louis, the album was produced by John Prine, Jason Isbell, The album was produced by Matt Ross-Spang, a Memphis-based engineer who has worked with John Prine, Jason Isbell, Anderson East, and Elvis Presley on reissues. We definitely challenged ourselves, pushed ourselves as artists, and expanded our musical horizons with this album.
