Assin Assad was formed with great ambitions as a follower of Secos & Moliados, a group led by Ney Mato Grosso that gained great popularity. The mastermind behind the group was Miguel de Deus, who played a central role in Os Brazões, a band that was part of the Tropicália movement. His "Black Soul Brothers" released on the "UNDERGROUND" label is a Brazilian rare groove classic that is sold for a high price, but "Assin Assad" is even more cult and obscure. From the quiet vocals and string section, to the relentless fuzz guitar, to the suite-like development that was probably influenced by the progressive rock of the same era, to the Afro-Brazilian elements that fit the current trend, the content is still shocking to listen to today. The album is shocking to listen to today. Unfortunately, the album was not well received at the time, and it seems to have gone unnoticed, but listening to it now, it can be described as a masterpiece of Brazilian psychedelic music, with songs as good as those of Secos & Moliados, and even a sense of dark-pot-like mixture, just as the cover photo shows. Although the original recordings are rarely sold on the market, it is said that once they are offered for sale, they fetch no less than $500USD. This is a masterpiece of Brazilian psychedelic music that needs to be reevaluated now, and is highly recommended for psychedelic music fans, Brazilian music fans, and rare groove fans. !!!!!!
