Founded in 1994, the Ensemble Resonanz is one of the world's leading chamber orchestras and has performed works by C.P.E. Bach, including the Sinfonia in Wq 183, a work that is considered to be a forerunner of later trends by adding wind instruments to the then-common strings-only composition to create a more diverse sound and greater dynamics. It is considered to be a pioneering work. The Ensemble Resonanz is based in Hamburg and has no permanent conductor, but has a close relationship with Riccardo Minaj as principal guest conductor and partner. The orchestra has frequently collaborated with world-famous musicians such as Tabea Zimmermann, Isabel Faust, and Emilio Pomarico, and has thrilled audiences with its performances in Japan and other countries. Conductor and violinist Riccardo Minaj is highly regarded as one of the most outstanding talents on the European music scene and has received numerous awards, including the 2015 Diapason d'Or, BBC Music Magazine Award, and Gramophone Magazine's Editor's Choice.
