Three years have passed since Riccardo Minaj & Ensemble Resonanz released "Mozart: The Three Great Symphonies" (HMM-902629/KKC-6161), which thrilled listeners with its intense expression and driving force. The sequel recording is finally released! This release features Symphony No. 36 "Linz" and No. 38 "Prague," which precede the three symphonies of the late period. Symphony No. 36 "Linz" is known for the episode that Mozart wrote it in only four days for a reserved concert during his stay in Linz, Austria, from October to November 1783. It is a symphony that is often taken up as a symphony that demonstrates the rapid writing of Mozart's genius, because of its substantial content that makes it hard to believe that it was written in a short period of time. For the first time in Mozart's symphonies, a slow introduction is placed at the beginning of the symphony, which enlivens the brilliant and lively theme that follows.Symphony No. 38 "Prague" is the symphony premiered in Prague by Mozart, who was invited to Prague for the first time in 1786, the year after the highly successful performance of "The Marriage of Figaro" in Prague. The reason for the three-movement form, which lacks a minuet movement, is not known, but the composition, which is interspersed with melodies from "The Marriage of Figaro," which was very popular at the time, greatly delighted the Prague audience.
