The story of Yehuda, the leader of Israel, who returns triumphant after winning a battle but loses his beloved daughter in order to keep his vow to God to sacrifice the first human being he meets. Performed by the Music of the Baroque Orchestra, a chamber orchestra founded by Thomas Wickman in 1972 and based in Chicago, USA, that performs mainly works from the 17th and 18th centuries. The orchestra is conducted by Jane Glover, who has served as music director since 2022, and is a distinguished British conductor who was awarded the Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2021.
