Description:
Jan Vogler is a world-renowned cello virtuoso based in New York. This is a chamber work by Dvořák performed with his colleagues at the Moritzburg Music Festival near Dresden. Cello virtuoso Jan Vogler's love for Dvořák was also expressed in his 2006 release of an album titled "Secrets of Dvořák's 'Cello Concerto,'" in which he explored the hidden secrets of the masterpiece. After about 15 years since then, the focus of Dvořák's work was on chamber music. The selection of chamber music works from Dvořák's various creative periods and the use of young artists who perform at the Moritzburg Music Festival (a music festival focusing on chamber music held every summer at Moritzburg Castle near Dresden), of which Vogler is the artistic director, demonstrate the diversity and richness of chamber music. The program features young artists who perform at the Moritzburg Music Festival (held every summer at Moritzburg Castle near Dresden). The famous "Songs My Mother Taught Me," arranged by Vogler for cello and piano, a piece from the rarely performed Trio for Two Violins and Viola, Op. 74, and finally the original solo piano version of the famous "Humoresque," in which the piano is fully integrated with the strings in two Trio and Quartet accompanied by piano are interspersed, allowing for comparisons with Dvorak's mentor, Brahms.
