The "Cover To Cover" series is a collection of their best takes on the bands that the three of them share a fondness for, and the songs that they feel attached to. This "Cov3r To Cov3r" is a collection of the best takes from a wide range of genres, similar to their past works. Following "Cover To Cover" (2006) and "Cover 2 Cover" (2012), this album features a wide selection of songs, from prog rock fans such as YES, GERRY RAFFERTY, SQUEEZE, JETHRO TULL, KING CRIMSON, DAVID BOWIE, LENNY KRAVITT, LENNY KRAVITTON, and more, LENNY KRAVITZ, and many more. All of them are sincere covers that show respect for the originals.Fans of the band will be pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of current YES vocalist Jon Davidson on (1) "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed" and (2) "It Don't Come Easy," which features Neal Morse's warm, enveloping vocals. The performance of the musicians at the top of their game is a joy to behold: the overwhelming groove of "Hymn 43," Neal Morse's warm vocals on "It Don't Come Easy," and the three of them in the breathy chorus of "Black Coffee In Bed. Mike Portnoy says, "Volume 3 of 'Cover To Cover' is finally being released. I really like this series and it's one of my favorites. I've been giving them to my family and friends to listen to. It shows the music that shaped me, Neal, and Randy. I hope you enjoy the classic progressive rock (a little more metal for me) and a wide range of artists that everyone expects to hear. Just as we did when we were recording. Cover To Cover Anthology (Vol. 1 - 3), which includes the two digitally remastered albums, will be released at the same time.The album artwork is new by Thomas Ewerhard, who has worked with SONS OF APOLLO, THE NEAL MORSE BAND, and AVANTASIA.
