Ambitious work from pop wizard Griff Rhys 2014's "American Interior" is released by Rough Trade in a gorgeously remastered edition with bonus tracks! Griff Rhys is the frontman of Welsh national band Super Furry Animals, and has also been featured in Gorillaz (a virtual masked music project by Blur's Damon Albarn) and Simian Mobile Disco (an electro unit by James Ford and James Shaw). Griff Reese is a talented vocalist who has also participated in Simian Mobile Disco (an electro unit by James Ford and James Shaw). Released in 2014, American Interior is a highly creative concept album created while retracing the strange adventures of 18th century explorer John Evans. Evans, an explorer from Wales, the same country as Griff Rhys, was a great adventurer who created the initial maps of the Missouri River, one of the largest and longest rivers in North America, stretching approximately 4000 km. This album, which was produced as a retrospective of his "investigative concert tour" in his footsteps, is a work in which Griff Rhys' addictive pop sense and melancholic elements are deployed in a topographical sound as if it were a road trip. The preceding single "Y Gwenan Gorn," which had no digital release and was only available on a rare analog EP, is euphoric and evokes the vast skies and fading horizons of the United States.In "Walk Into The Wilderness," he emotionally sings the melancholy of the journey ahead into the wilderness, moving the listener's heart, and spins from "Year Of The Dog" to "Tiger's Tale," two songs that were also placed at the end of the album on the original release, The nostalgic and melting melodies of "Year Of The Dog" and "Tiger's Tale" are a must-listen. In addition to the import CD and regular LP (black vinyl), a limited edition deluxe 3LP will be released in a luxurious three-disc set of apricot/purple/rose vinyl with five additional tracks.
