100th anniversary of Bernstein's birth. A box set of 16 Bernstein-certified masterpieces that offer a taste of the greatness of his music. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein's birth, a box set of three titles will be released on August 17. This will be a spectacular way to celebrate the anniversary of the greatest musician of the 20th century. This 16-CD box set is selected from the 100-CD "Bernstein Remastered" set released in 2017, and includes a vast selection of Bernstan's recordings from the early 1950s through the 1970s for Columbia-CBS in the United States, Beethoven, The CD includes Bernstein's own compositions, works by his close friend Copland, Dvorak's "New World," Mahler, Gershwin and Mozart, and the first recording of "The Rite of Spring," among other representative masterpieces. All are newly remastered and remixed in 2018 from the original analog masters (2- and 3-channel, mono), allowing you to enjoy the crisp, detailed, wide-range "360 sound" of Columbia's early and peak analog recordings to the fullest. The newest remastering and remixing in 2018.Since the CD era, Bernstein's recordings have been remastered several times, but in some cases, especially in the early CD era, excessive noise reduction was applied to the recordings to avoid hiss noise. This time, however, we did not take such measures, and instead, the original analog masters have been reproduced on CD as is. The recordings are in alphabetical order of composers and are based on the original couplings of the LP era, but some coupling tracks may have been added. The paper jackets use the jacket designs of the first-issue U.S. recordings, and one of the key points of this box set is that you can hold in your hands the American-style artwork that reflects each era. In particular, the CBS artwork from the late 1960s is of great value in itself, as many of the excellent pieces were created by outstanding designers in the company's design department, such as Hanrietta Kondak.
