A student of Claudio Arrau, Cyril Juve was considered "one of the best inheritors" by his master. He was also trained by Jerzy Sifra. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he was invited by the national radio station France Musique to perform a series of concerts entitled "Vieille seal (Old Wax Tubes) He also created an archive program titled "Vieille seal" (Old Wax Tubes) on the national radio station France Music, featuring performances by musicians of the past. He has also created music festivals in Arc-et-Sunan and Cluny. In this album, Chopin's masterpieces are performed on a fortepiano made in the 1800s (restored in 1991). The two instruments, the pleyel and the élard, are played separately to recreate the atmosphere of Paris at the beginning of the 19th century.Recently, the use of period instruments in Chopin's works has become popular, and this performance was released on Reflexe, EMI's old music series, at the time of its release, and was talked about as being truly "ahead of its time. The performance itself is quite challenging, and the intense expression that seems to challenge the limits of the instrument is fascinating, and this is one of the recordings that made him famous as a historical piano player.
