Martin Brabbins, who served as the Permanent Conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra from 2003 to 2016 and has been the Music Director of the English National Opera since 2016, is now available with a new recording of Walton's Symphonies No. 1 & No. 2 (CDA 67794), which was released in 2011 to critical acclaim as the definitive recording of Walton's music. The new Walton recordings are performed by Martin Brabbins, who has an established reputation for British modern and contemporary music, including the 2011 release of "Walton's Symphonies No. 1 & No. 2 (CDA 67794)," which was highly acclaimed as a definitive recording of the same works. The new recording of "Variations on a Theme by Hindemith," a masterpiece for orchestra based on a work by Hindemith, with whom Walton had a close friendship, is a must for British music fans. The soloist in the Violin Concerto is Anthony Marwood, a former member of the Florestan Trio and well-known for his many concerto recordings, including the Romantic Violin Concerto series.
