Xmal Deutschland, a band from Hamburg, Germany, is recognized as a pioneer of the post-punk movement. Sacred Bones is pleased to announce the reissue of Xmal Deutschland's Early Singles (1981-1982) and the simultaneous release of Xmal Deutschland frontwoman Anja Huwe's debut solo album, Codes. Xmal Deutschland is now recognized as a pioneer of the post-punk movement, and Early Singles (1981-1982) is a map of their foundational movement just before it took off. This release is a reflection of the era that followed the beginnings of punk and introduced the accessibility of new means of music production, and gives a sense of the band's pursuit of greater things. The reissue will also include two bonus tracks. Concurrently with the reissue, Xmal Deutschland's incomparable frontwoman, Anja Huwe, will release her solo debut.Invited by longtime friend Mona Mur, Huwe reconsidered his decades-long hiatus from music and went to Mur's studio in Berlin. They wrote, performed, and produced the album "Codes" from scratch for a year and a half, eventually completing it.
