Italy's hottest countertenor, Raffaele Pe! Raffaele Pé is one of the most acclaimed countertenors in Italy today, having performed with such masters of old music as John Eliot Gardiner, William Christie, Jordi Savall, Alessandro De Marchi, Antonio Florio, and many others. In 2014, he founded and serves as artistic director of the ensemble La Lilla di Orfeo (Orfeo's Lyre), and together they present a new Glossa recording. In addition to Handel's famous opera "Giulio Cesare in Egypt," this recording features works related to Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar), the hero of Baroque opera, who was the subject of works by Bianchi, Giacomelli, Piccinini, Pollarolo and many other Italian composers in the 18th century.
