Sean Sibe, a guitar prodigy with a wide repertoire, makes his first appearance on the PENTATONE label. He will be releasing an album titled "Pilgrimage"! Born in 1992 to English and Japanese parents, Sibe studied at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and later in Italy with Paolo Pegoraro. His subsequent success has been remarkable, winning the "Young Artist Award" at the 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards. In 2020, life has changed drastically due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. Sibe also had many days of self-doubts and questions with various thoughts and feelings. Under such circumstances, he decided to produce this album in order to deliver it to the audience in the "now. The album is a combination of Spanish and French works by Falla, José, Montpauw, Satie, Ravel, and Poulenc, and is composed of works that gave Sibe deep comfort during his "lonely" times.The Spanish composers recorded here have left behind many enchanting works that are both passionate and sad, but Cibet wanted to express hope and joy for the future, rather than sad nostalgia, even in these difficult times of pandemic. His superb technique and sensitive performance will give listeners a sense of peace. King International
