Description:
This release couples religious and orchestral works by two Polish composers active in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Josef Zeidrel (ca.1744-1806) and Antoni Harvell (1760-1831). Zeidrel's works have survived in manuscripts in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Gniezno, Poznan, and elsewhere, and the "Mass" is a work from the Grodzisk Wielkopolski collection in western Poland, with four-part choir, two violins, two violins and organ. The Sinfonia by Harvell, who was the first violinist and conductor of the Gniezno Cathedral, is a work that skillfully uses two violins, viola, two flutes, and two horns.
