SweetWilliam has released “Division,” an instrumental album that took approximately two years to produce. From the very first note, *Division* signals a major shift. This entirely instrumental album is the result of SweetWilliam’s meticulous refinement over the course of approximately two years. With a beatless structure, the artist has ventured into a new realm of sound design. Modern yet timeless. A comfortable groove and a cinematic sense of floating. All 10 tracks are colored by a wide range of diverse approaches, moving freely across various musical boundaries, while at their core, SweetWilliam’s signature approachable sound and tone serve as a firmer foundation than ever before, running through the entire work. Retaining the musical sensibilities cultivated as a beatmaker, SweetWilliam’s new musicality has emerged. Imbued with the depth and space reminiscent of film scores and soundtracks, this album has significantly expanded the scope of the artist’s musical expression. Joe Joaquin handled the mastering. The cover design and art direction were handled by designer Tatsuya Ariyama. The photograph gracing the front cover was taken by photographer Chieko Shiraishi. The record jacket features a special design that recreates the flip-back covers of the 1960s.
