The most important of the vast recordings by Sviatoslav Richter (1915-1987), "the piano giant of the 20th century," is the complete works of Bach's "Mean Clavier," recorded over a period of three years from 1970 to 1973 on a Bösendorfer, a rare recording for Richter. The original recordings were made in Salzburg and Vienna by German producers and engineers of Eulodisc, and were released by different record companies in different countries during the LP and CD periods. The original spliced 2-channel analog masters inherited and stored by Sonopress in 2012 have been carefully restored and DSD-remastered, and are now available for the first time in the world as a SA-CD It will be released as a single-layer album in Japan for the first time in the world.
