Kelly Powers' long-awaited album of original music after a five-year absence is highly acclaimed for her distinctive, soulful voice reminiscent of Karen Dalton and Carole King, as well as her outstanding songwriting. The album is produced by Marco Giovino, who has worked with Robert Plant and others on drums, and features guitarists Bo Ramsey and Luther Dickinson, who have worked with Lucinda Williams and many other artists. The album includes the Allman Brothers' classic (M7), a duet with Paul Thorn, as well as a highly accomplished original. Kelly Powers was born in southeastern Massachusetts in the 1980s, took guitar lessons at age 9, and was influenced by Lucinda Williams and Karen Dalton. In 2001, she made her debut with "You, Me and a Redhead" and was a finalist in the Kerrville New Folk Competition and the Telluride Songwriting Contest.Here, however, she took a break from her music career to get married and have a baby. She later went through a divorce and returned in 2009 with "Faith in the Shadows," which was followed by a European tour. In 2014, she released "Kerri Powers," which debuted at #1 on the Roots radio charts and was featured in the film "Chuck" and the popular TV series "Rescue Me." In 2018, she released "Starseeds" and planned to tour the U.S. and all of Europe, but canceled due to Corona. In 2022, he will release a covers album, Words on the Wind.
