Linda Ronstadt's first band, the Stone Ponies, introduced the autoharp into the band's lineup in 1965, while Bonnie Dobson and Nico experimented with string quartets, exploring new directions for Dylan after the advent of electric instruments. WALK AWAY RENEE" by Left Bank emerged in the psychedelic era and created a soft yet relentlessly sad sound. Montage, a rare project derived from Left Bank, is joined by everyone's favorite Emmitt Rose's "MERRY-GO-ROUND," two miraculous Nora Guthrie songs that shined on the M Records reissue, and Canada's J.K. & CO, a treasure from Vancouver, Canada, and more. The music, which uses string quartet, harpsichord, and woodwinds to create a new type of melancholy for summer and fall, still resonates with universality.Compiled by Bob Stanley of Saint Etienne, a highly respected pop music fan from around the world.
