As frontman of BAUHAUS, pioneers of early British gothic rock, singer PETER MURPHY became an icon of post-punk and dark wave from the early 80s. After the band's dissolution, he released solo classics like "ALL NIGHT LONG" and "THE SWEETEST DROP," garnering cross-generational support within the European and American alternative rock scenes. This live album fully captures the second of two shows performed at Chicago's METRO in 1990, a night also known for featuring the young NINE INCH NAILS as the support act. It is the fourth volume in the official live archive series 'PETER LIVE', released on his own label SILVER SHADE, launched in 2024. Capturing a stage performance during a period when his popularity in America was surging, fueled by the momentum of the studio album 'DEEP' and the hit single "CUTS YOU UP," the set features a band lineup with longtime collaborator PAUL STATHAM on guitar and keyboards, weaving together representative songs from his solo era and cover songs. "THE LINE BETWEEN THE DEVIL'S TEETH" opens with a racing rhythm and razor-sharp guitar, while "DEEP OCEAN, VAST SEA," and "SEVEN VEILS," where Middle Eastern-inspired melodies and percussion create an eerie, intoxicating atmosphere. From the very start, PETER MURPHY's voice and the band's unity surge forward. The signature track "CUTS YOU UP" builds excitement with its violin phrases and soaring melody.
