This is a collection of Bach's Gamba Sonatas performed by a duo of "piano and gamba of the time," a unique attraction different from the harpsichord, using a viola da gamba made by Jacob Steiner in 1655 and a copy of a Zilberman fortepiano made in 1749. The Zilbermann piano existed before Bach's death, and it is said that Bach had some interaction with this great piano maker.
