Description:
The fourth installment of a project uncovering sacred music from the late 18th to early 19th centuries, performed by church bands in Warmia, northeastern Poland. The source material for this recording project is the collection of the library of the Higher Theological School of the Warmia Metropolis "Hosianum" in Olsztyn, discovered by Father Tomasz Garbowski. The oldest items in this rich collection of over 800 works date back to the 16th century. They primarily consist of sacred vocal and instrumental works, including arias, vespers, litanies, offerings, ascensions, and masses, though symphonies and secular works are also included.
