La Saint-Honorée de Poche (Pocket Symphony) is an orchestra founded by Nicolas Simon, who served as an assistant to François-Xavier Lot as an associate conductor of Les Siecle. The orchestra is active in arranging small-format versions of various works, but is characterized by original arrangements that are not merely reduced in size. For their debut recording, Lalo & Ravel, the orchestra has arranged Lalo's "Spanish Symphony" and Ravel's "Tzigane" "for violin and small orchestra," using a unique arrangement that includes a baritone saxhorn, a brass instrument of the genus saxhorn, and an accordion, La Valse," reborn as an accordion concerto, and the mysterious "Bolero," which incorporates the Afro-Cuban rhythm "Bembe," are full of fresh sounds.A must for Ravel lovers and lovers of arranged works!
