The Youth Orchestra of the Americas was founded in 2002 as The Youth Orchestra of the Americas, an elite group of young musicians between the ages of 18 and 30 from all over the Americas, The Orchestra of the Americas is an elite group of young virtuoso musicians between the ages of 18 and 30 from countries throughout the Americas. The second concert with Prieto, a music director from Mexico, is a collection of works by Falla. The passionate blood and youthful energy of the Latin people are alive and well in this passionate yet exhilarating performance, as if they were playing after a sporting event. Also noteworthy is the Mexican-born pianist Jorge Federico Osorio, who is currently active mainly in Chicago.
