Description:
This year is the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, and this is the year to listen to "Revolution"! This is the sixth recording in the series of the complete Shostakovich symphonies by Tabakov and the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Emil Tabakov and promoted by GEGA NEW. Up to now, the series has released the 4th, 8th, 7th, 11th, and 13th symphonies in that order, all of which have been enthusiastically supported by core fans. This sixth release finally couples the popular No. 5 (often called "Revolution" in Japan) with the austere masterpiece No. 6. As in the previous recordings, you can feel the conductor's strong will to do as he pleases, like a rugged and stubborn craftsman who is not at all flirtatious with his listeners.Tavakov, himself an accomplished composer who has vigorously presented works influenced by Shostakovich and Schnittke, gives a passionate performance here as well, identifying himself with the works after analyzing them meticulously. In No. 5, contrary to (or perhaps in defiance of?) the listener's easy expectations of this piece, the brass brass is not as strong as in the other works, and the orchestra is not as strong as in the other works. The strings are the most lyrical and beautifully harmonized in the recording so far, and the third movement is especially superb. The strings are the most lyrical and beautifully harmonized in the recording to date, and the third movement is particularly superb. The final movement takes a slightly slower tempo, allowing each note to stand out clearly and distinctly. The horn solo in the middle of the movement gives one goosebumps with a sense of majestic dignity reminiscent of the great rivers of Russia. The closing section is like the steady stride of a yokozuna wrestler, and the solid, stately music is very impressive. The performance of No. 6 is the best example of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra's remarkable progress, and the majesty of the opening movement is exceptional. The lightheartedness of the second and third movements is also outstanding, and the string and woodwind sections are outstanding, leading the listener into a frenzied dance in the finale. As in the past, this is a meticulous session recording made in a studio. A must for all Shostakovich fans. Tobu Land System
