Since the mid-1970s, the Detroit-born rock singer has led the Silver Bullet Band to numerous hit records on the U.S. charts, including "Still the Same" (1978), which Rod Stewart also covered. This album, released immediately after the breakup of the Bob Seger System, is literally a solo album in which he sings, plays piano, plays guitar, and writes music all by himself. Although unique, this album is one of the most sensitive expressions of the singer/songwriter's attitude as a singer/songwriter who sings nakedly about the American way of life.
