This CD is a rare recording of live concert performances by the U.S. Coast Guard Band, which made its first-ever visit to Japan from November to December 2008 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Japan’s Coast Guard system. This is because the band’s stay was extremely brief, and the number and audience for their concerts were limited, meaning only a very small number of people were able to experience their magnificent performances. Consequently, fans who missed the concerts had long been eagerly awaiting the release of this CD. Since CDs by U.S. military bands, including the U.S. Coast Guard Band, are rarely distributed in Japan, domestic wind ensemble fans have had almost no opportunity to hear their superb performances. However, thanks to the dedicated efforts of CAFUA Records and the Japan Coast Guard, the release of this CD has finally become a reality.
