Featuring previously unreleased tracks, outtakes, early mixes and single B-sides, this fan-favorite disc is back on CD following its Record Store Day limited edition analog release! The Flaming Lips are a cult icon of our time, constantly innovating with their euphoric, cathartic performances and genre-bending, experimental, avant-garde approach. Since their debut album "Here It Is" in 1986, the Flaming Lips have continued to express their genre-defying worldview through their sound, from rock to alternative, psychedelic to space pop, and released four albums on Restless Records by 1990. In 1993, their second album, TRANSMISSIONS FROM THE SATELLITE HEART, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, and was released on the Beverly Hills High School White Paper, Beavis and Butthead, and Warner Bros. They have also appeared on popular American TV shows such as Beverly Hills High School White Paper, Beavis and Butthead, and Late Night with David Letterman, while releasing experimental works such as ZAIREEKA, a multi-playback work that is completed by playing four CD players simultaneously. The Flaming Lips' breakthrough album, THE SOFT BULLETIN, released in the summer of 1999, was the first to spread their musical gospel to the so-called mainstream. THE SOFT BULLETIN" is an essential work in the history of The Flaming Lips. This "Companion Disc" was produced to promote it.Originally distributed to the media and radio stations, this promotional disc of unreleased songs, outtakes, early mixes, and single B-sides was the envy of fans for many years. In 2021, the "Companion Disc" was reissued as a 2-disc silver analog set as a Record Store Day limited edition. This time, following the analog release, a CD reissue of the original format is also being released. The "Companion Disc" of "THE SOFT BULLETIN," which gave birth to such classic songs as "Race For The Prize" and "Waitin' For A Superman," includes songs that were unreleased or not included on the album when it was released, as well as outtakes, early mixes, and bonus material outside the US. The "Companion Disc" of "THE SOFT BULLETIN" contains songs that were previously unreleased or not included on the album, outtakes, early mixes, bonus tracks used outside the U.S., and stereo versions of songs from "ZAIREEKA", the album that preceded "THE SOFT BULLETIN". The Flaming Lips' "missing link" in their history, this companion disc is back again, 20 years after its release!
