Real Estate, a five-piece band from New Jersey that leads the US indie scene with its comfortable guitar-pop sound, has released its sixth studio album "Daniel"! Real Estate consists of Martin Courtney (vocals / guitar), Alex Bleeker (bass / vocals), Matt Coleman (keyboards), Julian Lynch (guitar), and Sammy Niss (drums), Working with Grammy-winning producer Daniel Tassian, whose credits include Kacey Musgraves, the band completed 11 new songs, recorded over nine days at RCA Studio A in Nashville.The first single, "Water Underground," was released along with a music video inspired by the popular 1990s Nickelodeon sitcom The Adventures of Pete & Pete. The video was directed by Edmund Hawkins and features Danny Tamberelli, another TV star from New Jersey, and Michael C. Maronna, who appeared on the show. Filmed in suburban New Jersey, the video was conceptualized and produced by Tamburelli, Maronna, and creators Chris Viscardi and Will McRobb. The pleasantly artistic songs on "Daniel" shine brilliantly and without hesitation, and are a perfect blend of the uninhibited nature of the band's early work and the quality they have acquired over the course of their career. Real Estate rented a room in Nashville for this album, creating a dense working environment. A few days into recording, while discussing the album's title, someone suggested "Daniel.Could it be derived from Daniel Tassian? Maybe it does. And was this album a sign of a band that had been around long enough to take their music seriously without taking themselves or their perceptions too seriously? Absolutely.
