Pizzinni, a giant star of the late Neapolitan school of music Rare recordings of operatic arias Antonio Florio, a master musician who has recorded Neapolitan music mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries under the series "Tesori di Napori" (Treasures of Naples) on the OPUS111 label and has brought the charm of Neapolitan music to the modern age, and his handler Capella Neapolitana (formerly known as Capella de Turquini), have recorded the first recording of opera arias for PENTATONE with Rosa Feola, a soprano who is very active in opera houses around the world. The master musician Antonio Florio and his crew, Capella Neapolitana (formerly known as Capella de Turquini), make their first appearance at PENTATONE with soprano Rosa Feola, who has been very active in opera houses all over the world! This is a collection of operatic arias by Niccolo Piccinni, a giant star of the late Neapolitan school of music. Born in Bari, southern Italy in 1728, Niccolo Piccinni studied with Leonardo Leo and Francesco Docrante in Naples, and composed his first opera in his mid-20s. Later, his opera buffa "Cecchina, or the Good Daughter," composed and performed in Rome in 1760, was a great success and established his reputation as an opera composer. His reputation spread to France, and he was invited to France by Marie Antoinette.Pitinni was considered a rival of Gluck in Paris, and the aristocrats, intellectuals, and citizens of Paris were divided into two factions, Gluck's and Pitinni's, which caused a great controversy. Although Pizzinni was at the center of the so-called "Gluck-Pizzinni controversy," which eventually took on a political dimension, he established a firm position in France, becoming a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music. After the French Revolution, however, he lost his backing and returned to Naples. To commemorate Pizzinni's profound influence on the world of music in the late 18th century, the Conservatory in Bari, his birthplace, bears his name. (1/2) PENTATONE
